DIY Fashion Website [I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!]

While surfing the web today, I found the most amazing website ever! It's a website by a girl named Giannyl, and she creates DIY fashion videos that are very easy to understand. She has several videos showing you how to turn older clothing/fabrics into new, fashionable outfits. I've already created a huge list of clothes I want to make using her instructional videos. The first thing I plan to make is this VERY EASY maxi dress. There is only one seam to sew... I can't wait!!

How to Choose the Perfect Necklace

You can always, ALWAYS dress up an outfit by adding jewelry. At work, we're practically required to put a necklace on every mannequin. It just pulls together the entire outfit, making her look her absolute best. The only exception when I do not add a necklace is when I dress her in a halter tank top that clings close to and ties around her neck.

When you wear a V-Neck Top, choose either a--
  • Simple silver or gold chain with a single jewel or charm
  • Longer, fuller necklace layered with a shorter one
  • Longer, chained/detailed necklace

Most Fashionable Heels according to Plato's Closet

Now when it comes to basing fashion off of Plato's Closet (a used clothing store that only accepts clothing styles from the past 1-2 years) or any clothing store for that matter, I've realized that just because the item isn't selling, doesn't mean it's not cool, or "IN". There are plenty of items that I want to purchase as a Plato's Closet Buyer that I can't because it's not selling well... Another reason we can't buy certain items is because there are too many in stock, or that there are several other styles selling faster. You see, Plato's Closet is not only a cool place to buy fashionable clothing, it's also a business.

Anyways, I had to get that out of the way before I begin telling you what Heels are selling the fastest at this store. Here is the Plato's Closet guide for the most fashionable woman's high heel as of now. (in Lansing, MI)

Can I Wear Black with Brown?

In the past, I have always fixed my fiancé's outfits, refusing to let him wear black and brown together! I've always been told that you are never supposed to commit such a fashion crime! But now, I feel fashion is changing and allowing for such mix of colors. So I would say,

"YES! YOU CAN WEAR BLACK WITH BROWN!"

I wouldn't overdo it but here are some tips on how to pull off wearing these colors together.

Try wearing...

1. Leopard Print Cardigan over a Black Shirt/Dress
2. Black Dress with Brown Belt & Brown Sandals
3. Brown Dress Top with Black Pants
4. Brown Cardigan over Black Dress
5. Brown Long Shirt with Black Leggings
6. Black Top, Jeans, Brown Belt, Brown Boots
7. Black Nylons with Dark Brown Leggings and Leopard Print Dress

Animal Prints are the easiest way to pull off the two colors. But honestly, don't worry about what you're "supposed" to wear. Whatever YOU think looks best when you're looking in the mirror, go ahead and wear it! If you think it looks good, it probably does. The same thing goes for other colors you've been told not to wear together... perhaps Pink & Red or Gold & Silver. Just because other people are too afraid to wear them doesn't mean they don't look good! You can set a new trend-- then start counting how many people around you start wearing the forbidden colors together!

The Swimsuit to Wear on Spring Break when you have No Boobs!

I will start off being straight-forward with you. Not all of us girls have boobs. Period. So it's easy to understand why we come home empty handed after having tried on a million different bikini swimsuits all day long. It's easy to understand the frustration. Usually Walmart, Meijer, Target, and other cheap department stores will not have what we need. However, I figured out a solution.  We just have to spend an extra 10-30 bucks and move on to our spring breaks and summer beach lives.

Check out some of these swimsuits and see if you can find one that will push those boobs up and give you the look your dreaming to have! All these swimsuits below are supposed to increase your cup size!

Solution #1: Victoria's Secret.

Solution #2: Any Push Up Bikini Top.

Solution #3: Swimsuit Inserts... However, I have never tried this! It might be embarrassing if one were to fall out............. Try at your own risk!

Best Coat to Dress up Any Outfit!

When your outfit is not as dressy, classy, or as sophisticated as you'd like it to be, try wearing a black, gray (or any color!) peacoat when you go out. This coat not only enhances your outfit, but it also creates a slimming effect as well. I have worn a black peacoat for several years now. It looks great with about anything. The only time I don't wear it is when I'm dressed in all brown. [Then I prefer a white or lighter beige colored jacket.] The nice thing about peacoats is that you can buy them to wear for any season. I have a really thin one which I bought for 40 Euros in France. My fiancé has a thick, hooded one that he got for $200, which is extremely warm. We went to the zoo during a snow storm last month and he ended up giving me his coat to put over top of mine... I didn't even notice it was cold anymore! That's the perk of spending more money for your winter jackets.

The cool thing is that there are several styles of peacoats for you to choose from. Some have big buttons going down the middle. Most have two rows of buttons. Some overlap so much that they only button at the top. You can get them with belts too which are cute, though I always end up losing the belt, or just taking it off because I'm too lazy to do up the belt and buttons! Regardless, a black peacoat is the way to go! They especially look nice over dresses. You don't have to worry about putting your winter ski jacket over a dress when you want to go out for a romantic dinner. ♥

Keep Your Legs Warm in the Winter!

For the first time this winter, I decided to dress up despite the freezing cold weather. Usually I dress in any ole scarf, hat, sweater, jeans, and boots.. which is fine, but I really love wearing dresses and skirts! So I invested in some leggings, leg warmers, and tights/nylons. It helped tremendously! You can wear any dress you would in the summer, just add leggings and a cute sweater or shrug and you'll be much, much warmer. Also, there are so many stylish boots you can throw on too that will match any dress and keep your feet warm when you're truckin' through large heaps of snow!

You would be warmer yet, wearing sweater dresses. I absolutely love these dresses because many have a large turtle neck that will keep you REALLY warm in the winter. I also wear leg warmers with these dresses too!

These are my favorite pair of purple leg warmers
I have worn them so much this winter, usually scrunched up like in the photo below.

I also wear them pulled up straight to keep more of my legs warm!

These are the tights I wear underneath the leg warmers. I normally prefer to wear plain black nylons, however I haven't bought more since my cats clawed at my older pairs... :/ though, I am growing to like these ones quite well!

You can also wear patterned tights like these white ones below. They are thicker, which make your legs warmer! :)

Here's a close up on the pattern. Patterns are cool!

Here's my newest pair of leggings I just bought yesterday from Forever 21! I love them because they go up past my knees! And there's some cute flower crochet going on!

This is possibly a better view of them. [In time, I will have a better camera! In time.]

And, I figured you would want to see one outfit with leggings, so here ya go! Obviously if I go outside, I will put on some sort of shawl/sweater/shrug thing! I didn't get a close up of these black winter tights that I have on below, but they are AWESOME because they have some sort of sweater-like material on the inside that keeps my legs extra warm.
